Our exciting Junior Explorers Program includes age appropiate trips to Northern California fun spots like The Exploratorium, Steinhart Aquarium, Lawrence Hall of Sciences, Chabot Space and Science Center, Mini Golf, Bowling, Movies,  Boating,  Ice Skating, Mini Golf, Tilden Park,  Lake Temescal, The S.F. and Oakland Zoos, The USS Hornet, Exciting Beach Trips and more.

See calendar below for tentative 2010 calendar (click on arrows forward to June,  2010)

Important notes regarding field trip safety:

Transportation:  Campers are transported by specially licensed drivers in shuttle busses or 15 passenger vans.  All laws regarding seat belts and booster seats are enforced.

Our Camper to Counselor Ratio for this program is a maximum of 4:1 with 3:1 or even 2:1 for the younger campers or those who require extra attention.

Trips to Water World are done on low attended weekdays and campers are required to wear life vests while at the park except for those strong swimmers who have written exemption from their parent / guardian to not wear lifevests.  Water World has wonderful play areas specially designed for younger campers that are safe and very well supervised with trained lifeguards and our staff as well.  Along with low attendance in the park on these weekdays and high levels of supervision, our trips to Water World are safer than traditional civic pool visits.  These trips are always the highlights of the week for our young campers.

Trips to Discovery Kingdom are also done on low attended weekdays and along with our very low camper to counselor ratios these trips are safe and loads of summer fun.  Campers enjoy age appropiate amusement rides, animal shows and so much more.

Beach trips are done at inland S.F. Bay Beaches like Crowne Memorial in Alameda with no undertow and very little wave action.

NEW for 2010!  We now have 2 base camp locations for this camp.
